How Edge Score works

What is Edge Score?

Edge Score is JPick's proprietary Breakout Potential Index (0–100). It combines per-90 output, position-specific stats, and recent momentum so you can spot players trending ahead of their usage.

What does the NEXT BREAK badge mean?

NEXT BREAK flags players aged 24 or younger whose recent output is accelerating relative to their role — early signals of a breakout.

What does X-FACTOR mean?

X-FACTOR tags veterans (age ≥ 25) producing outsized recent impact that swings match outcomes beyond what a simple goal total captures.

How often is this ranking updated?

The ranking recomputes every night from the daily fixture pipeline. Edge Score reflects the latest completed matches.

How is this different from Player Impact (PI)?

Edge Score is about breakout and momentum — visible on the Web. Player Impact (PI) measures each player's in-team influence on match outcomes and is available only in the JPick iOS app.

When might Edge Score be misleading?

Edge Score needs a meaningful playing-time sample to stabilise. Players under ~180 minutes this season, or returning from injury, can produce volatile scores. Short hot streaks can also inflate Edge — cross-check with full-season stats and recent form for a balanced read.
